So you’re finally ready to check “go skydiving” off your bucket list – awesome choice! But before you harness up, it’s important to make the appropriate plans and preparations mentally, physically, and financially. So, how much is skydiving, really??

The short answer: a tandem skydive costs anywhere between $200 and $400 depending on several factors. The exact price depends on the dropzone, jump altitude, day of the week, group size, and whether you choose to add a video package (and trust us – you’ll want to capture this!).

At Skydive Danielson, we’re all about being transparent, keeping things fun, and – most importantly – practicing the highest standards of safety. Here is a complete breakdown of how much it costs to parachute, what’s included, and why the experience is 1,000% worth it.

How Much Does it Cost to Skydive Tandem?

Skydiving prices vary depending on which dropzone you jump at. In the United States, a typical tandem jump from a normal altitude of 8,000 to 14,000 feet can cost anywhere from $200 to $400. Some dropzones offer higher altitudes, which can change the tandem prices significantly (between $370 to $475).

The total cost of the tandem skydive often includes all of the gear that you’ll need for the jump, the training on what to do, the plane ride to altitude, and the actual skydive with a certified tandem instructor.

Video and photo package add-ons are common and can really enhance your experience as a whole. The prices for a photo and video package varies from dropzone to dropzone and can range anywhere from $100 to $200.

How Much Does it Cost to Skydive Solo?

Once you’ve caught the skydiving bug, you might start thinking about learning to jump totally on your own. That’s where the Accelerated Freefall (AFF) Program comes in. This program teaches you the skills needed to become a licensed skydiver through a mix of ground school and supervised jumps.

The Learn to Skydive program at Skydive Danielson can cost anywhere from $3,275 to $3,999 in total, depending on your progression and how you choose to pay. How Long Does Skydiving Last?

From check-in to landing, you can expect to spend about three to five hours at the dropzone. This timeframe allows for weather holds we might experience during a typical day at the DZ. Here’s a general breakdown of the experience:

  • Training and pre-jump briefing: 20 to 30 minutes
  • Plane ride to altitude: 10 to 15 minutes
  •  Freefall: about 60 seconds
  •  Parachute ride: 4 to 6 minutes

The actual skydiving experience might sound short, but time moves differently in freefall. Many first-timers say the minutes in the air stretch out into forever – and the post-jump high? That can last for days!

Why is Skydiving so Expensive?

Skydiving might seem pricey for something that only lasts a few minutes, but when you see what goes into each jump, it all adds up. Here’s what is included in your ticket to adventure:

  • Highly Trained Instructors: Each tandem instructor at Skydive Danielson holds a USPA certification and has completed extensive training. These pros are passionate about what they do and dedicated to making your first jump as fun and safe as possible.
  •  Equipment & Gear: Every tandem setup includes two parachutes, an automatic activation device (AAD), harnesses, jumpsuits, altimeters, and more! All equipment is routinely inspected and maintained by certified parachute riggers to meet safety regulations. This stuff is built to last and built to quite literally save lives – it reasonably costs a pretty penny (or two).
  • Aircraft Maintenance & Fuel: Our airplanes are purpose-built for skydiving and maintained to the highest standards set by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Is Skydiving Worth the Money?

Abso-freakin-lutely! Skydiving isn’t just another weekend activity – it’s an experience that sticks with you forever and, for some, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. It’s the empowerment that comes from breaking free from fear, the freedom that comes with the thrill of pure adrenaline, and the awe that comes with peacefully floating high above the world.

When you land, you won’t be thinking about the cost. You’ll be thinking of the mind-blowing experience you just had that totally changed your outlook on life.

At Skydive Danielson, every jump is designed to be more than just an adventure – it’s a celebration of courage, joy, and the incredible things you can do when you step out of your comfort zone and start living your life to the fullest!
