What to Expect
Skydiving for the First Time
Knowing what to expect when skydiving for the first time can go a long way to ease the jitters. At Skydive Danielson, we’re committed to helping you feel confident and equipped from the moment you arrive until you’re heading home with a huge grin on your face!
When You Arrive
On The Ground
Arrive 15 minutes before your reservation time to check in for your training class.
- Show your ID (you must be 18+ to skydive)
- Get weighed (you must be 240 lbs or less)
- Complete your waiver
- Attend a 20-minute training class
- Choose a media package (if you didn’t at booking)
- Meet your instructor; get fitted with your harness
This is a great time to hydrate, visit the restroom, and ask questions – our team is here to help!
When Your Load Is Called
In The Air
Once it’s your turn, you and your instructor will board the aircraft and begin the climb to altitude. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the view. On the way up, you’ll:
- Sit in front of your instructor
- Climb to 14,000 feet
- Review exit instructions so you’re ready for go time
- Enjoy 15-20 minutes of stunning aerial scenery
At your instructor’s signal, you’ll move together to the open door. This is when it gets really real!
When It’s Your Turn
On Top of the World
This is it – your moment of truth! Feeling nervous is completely normal – take a deep breath and trust your instructor. The magic is on the other side of fear! Your skydive includes:
- Up to 60 seconds of freefall at 120 mph
- Smooth parachute deployment
- 4-6 minute parachute ride
- Easy landing (just lift your legs!)
Freefall is fast but serene – many describe it as the most peaceful minute of their entire life!
When You Land
Back to Earth
You did it – you jumped out of an airplane 2.6 miles above the ground! Skydiving is a true life milestone, something only a small percentage ever experience! After you land, you can:
- Laugh, cry, scream – release the energy
- Get your certificate of completion and return-jump voucher
- Watch your skydiving video
- Book another jump – even jump again if there’s availability!
Whether you head out or stick around, one thing is certain – you’ll never be the same again!
Be Prepared to Wait
Skydiving Weather
New England weather can change quickly – and clear skies on the ground don’t always mean clear skies at altitude. Plan to spend the day at the dropzone to allow for weather holds.
